I. Account Executive:
Responsible for the on-going and daily sales and territory management activities for defined territories. These activities include all issues regarding sales, production, collections, distribution of publications and customer service to hospitality related accounts and prospects and distribution/merchandising responsibility for specific publications. Sales growth within territory is expected to grow by expanding our current base and by exploiting the opportunities that exist for our various products with our current base. The position of sales works closely and reports to the Sales Manager regarding performance against sales goals, distribution, collections and production. A challenging position that covers a wide array of responsibilities especially deadlines with outside clients. Must convey excellent communication skills, ability to handle diligently multiple tasks and deadlines, and convey confidence when representing products.

Specific tasks include:
1. Sales:
• Maintain and build prospect universe.
• Call on ALL hospitality related accounts within assigned territory.
• Adhere to VistaGraphics sales tactics and policies.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of sales process.

2. Production:
• Relay selling points, copy and ad direction to art department and submission of job jackets
in a timely manner.
• Arrange photography with clients.
• Presenting and obtaining approval on ad proofs.
• Customer satisfaction relating to ad and product production.
• Input and approval of all contracts, listings, discount/offers via electronic contracts and job jackets.
• Keep a complete and accurate Job Tracking Form
• Submission of ads and products to Traffic Manager must be in final approved form.

3. Distribution:
• Responsible for distribution checks within market for quality control and improvement purposes.
• Adherence to VistaGraphics distribution policies and guidelines.
• Always striving to improve the reach and effectiveness of distribution through enhancing relationship of distribution outlets.

4. Collections:
• Minimize overdue debt through monthly review of collections records and calling on all accounts.
• Oversee the accuracy of billing relative to contracts.

5. Service:
• Maintain frequent service calls on all accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

II. Associate Account Executive:
Similar responsibilities ad Account Executive, however markets are on a smaller scale and territories may include special assignment sales initiatives. This position requires extensive, short-term weekly travel to markets and/or assignments. Specific tasks include all those of Account Executive; however the need may arise to deliver magazines when needed.

Overall, this dynamic position is training to become an Account Executive. Compensation is salary based until promoted to Account Executive whereas compensation becomes unlimited based upon performance.

This Virginia Beach publishing house offers an exciting opportunity to participate in the production process of more than 60 titles deadlining monthly and annually. Applicants should have strong writing, communication and proofreading skills. 10 hours minimum per week (in Virginia Beach office) for the duration of the academic semester. 120 hours total.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assembling the Datebook calendar of events, writing/updating editorial for Visitors Guides publications, acquiring images/art, general research and fact checking, assisting in copy editing and proofing pages, helping with large-scale projects and events and general administrative duties. There also may be opportunities to write small and medium length pieces for the publication. Ideal candidates are college sophomores, juniors or seniors seeking real world experience in the magazine industry. Experience writing and editing preferred. Internship is unpaid and dates/hours are flexible, although a minimum of 16 hours a week is ideal.

WEB INTERNSHIP
VistaGraphics is looking for creative college students who would like hands-on web design/development experience. Duties include updating content on existing websites using HTML, content management systems, Dreamweaver and CSS. Required Skills: HTML (hand-coding). Working knowledge of Photoshop (image resizing, cropping, laying out graphics, optimizing), Dreamweaver, CSS or Text Wrangler. Useful skills: Knowledge of using FTP software such as Filezilla, Search Engine Optimization skills and Social Media knowledge a plus.

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP
As a graphic design intern within the VistaGraphics Production Department you will be using InDesign 5 and PhotoShop 5. Graphics Interns will learn to construct ads for numerous print publications as well as the systematic approach to organizing the massive amount of art files that a publisher of more than 60 titles has. The primary publications that the art internship focuses on are: Hardbound Restaurant and Menu Guides for five hospitality markets as well as the coupon and map booklets for seven hospitality markets. This is a well-rounded 120 semester hour internship that will also touch upon website work, creative speculative advertising for prospective clients and their marketing campaigns, graphic print projects such as brochures and rack cards, as well as layout and design for the City and Lifestyle publications.

MEDIA SALES INTERN:
Local regional publisher of print and electronic media offers a 120 semester hour internship for college students. Duties will range from prospecting to database management to inside/outside sales opportunities. Overall the program will provide hands-on experience that will help students gain an insight into the normal duties and expectations of business to business development.
